Get Ready for High Speed USB 3.0

USBThats right people, USB 2.0 was a breakthrough with more speed and storage capacity then the first USB drives on the market. Now USB 3.0 is out and it is much faster than the speeds available with USB 2.0

This third generation USB is backwards compatible all the way back to USB 1.1 and it uses less power than the older USB drives. It has transfer speeds of up to 4.8Gbit/s. That is ten times faster then USB 2.0’s data transfer speeds. The ports and cabling for USB 3.0 are designed with copper which allows for even higher speeds for future versions.

USB 3.0 is being promoted by a group of companies including names like Intel. Intel also announced a wireless USB format capable of 1Gbit/s transfer speeds.
