Intel Completes Penryn Lineup with 16 New Processors
Intel added 16 new processors to its Penryn lineup, thus making the 65nm chip officially obsolete. Intel CEO Paul Otellini announced the new additions at CES earlier.
The new lineup consists of five mobile Core2Duos ranging from 2.1 to 2.8 GHz. Each chip sports 3MB or 6MB L2 Cache and a 800MHz FSB.
Intel has also added seven chips to its desktop lineup. It now offers four Core2Duos ranging from 2.66 GHz to 3.16 GHz as well as three Core2Quads ranging from 2.5 GHz to 2.83 GHz. All chips run on a 1333 MHz FSB and have L2 Cache aplenty.
The new Penryn architecture will accomondate all your overclocking needs, as unnecessary as they may be.
To top it off, the new Xeon processors will come in duo and quad configurations. The only Dual-core Xeon will run at 3 GHz while the Quad-core Xeons will range from 2.5 to 2.83 GHz.
