Windows XP SP3 is Delayed: But We Still Know Where You can Download it

The next update due out for Windows XP, Service Pack 3 (SP3), was originally supposed to be publicly available April 29th.

Well Microsoft tried, but they were not able to meet that deadline causing them to delay the release of SP3.

Here is what Microsoft’s Chris Keroack had to say:

In order to make sure customers have the best possible experience, we have decided to delay releasing Windows XP Service Pack 3 (SP3) to the web.

The delay seems to be associated with issues related to a Windows XP based checkout system for retail stores, known as Microsoft Dynamics Retail Management System. This would only affect a small percentage of customers, but considering these customer are corporate clients, this small percentage actually matters.

There is no word on what the new public release date is, but their is no need to fret. Speeding Computer has your back. It turns out Microsoft still made the download available on their servers, but it’s not available through Microsoft Windows Update.
