Windows XP SP3 to be Officially Released in Days

Windows XP Logo The latest Windows update for XP, known as SP3 has already been sent to manufacturers for testing and it should be released to the public within days. As of now it is scheduled for April 29th.

So you might be asking what you can expect with SP3, and if it is even worth updating?

Well according to Microsoft:

This update also includes a small number of new functionalities, which do not significantly change customers’ experience with the operating system.

They also released a whitepaper to explain it in more detail. You can download the whitepaper to find out more. Their is also some good information by Adrian Kingsley-Hughes who said SP3 also includes a small number of new enhancements to the OS.

How can you update your XP?

First, wait until April 29th. Then simply use the Windows update feature or get it through the Microsoft download center.
