1.5 Terabytes of Seagate Goodness

Seagate has just announced the world’s first 1.5-terabyte 3.5″ hard drive along with a 500-gigabyte 2.5″ hard drive for notebooks to meet the explosive demand for digital media storage
The Barracuda 7200rpm, 1.5TB hard drive is the single largest jump in hard drive capacity in 50 years. A half-terabyte jump from 1TB previously.
The new drives use perpendicular magnetic recording technology, allowing them to use less magnetic particles to store a single bit of data.
The new hard drives will be available in the fourth quarter of this year.
