If you didn’t know already, Microsft Vista’s system requirements state that you will need 15GB just to install it. That is drastically more than what was required for Windows XP.
Luckily there is now a Vista configuration tool that allows you to modify the installation files in many ways, including making the size requirements much smaller.
It’s called vLite, and according to the vLite website it will even make Vista run faster. (more…)

After an absolute storm of publicity since Steve Jobs pulled the newly introduced Apple MacBook Air out of a manila folder at Macworld, many people took the time to pre-order one as soon as they could.
The people who did have begun to receive notifications that their MacBook Air is in the mail and already on the way. (more…)

The touchpad sports the same multi-touch interface found in the iPhone allowing the user to zoom and unzoom using natural motions. (more…)
Intel added 16 new processors to its Penryn lineup, thus making the 65nm chip officially obsolete. Intel CEO Paul Otellini announced the new additions at CES earlier.

During the holiday shopping frenzy, numerous computer manufacturers have laptops on the market with comparable stats to the MacBook, many of which are even priced lower than Apple’s hottest selling laptop.

The NVIDIA 780i Chipset will replace the aging 680i. The 680i was arguably the best chipset for SLI enthusiasts.
However, a lack of Penryn support has rendered the 680i obsolete for new systems with Penryn processors.
Three major benefits the new 780i chipset has over the 680i are as follows:
- Support for Intel’s highly praised Penryn processors
- Support for up to 3 GPUs running in SLI
- Use of the new PCI Express 2.0 slots
The three GPUs offer a reported 2.7 times increase in performance over a single video card. (more…)
Toshiba and others have joined forces to develop the first system chips using 32 nanometer circuitry. That’s far below Intel’s new 45nm Penryn processor.
The alliance consists of Toshiba, IBM, Samung, Infineon, Freescale, and Singapore’s Chartered Semiconductor Manufacturing. The agreement lasts until the year 2010. Hopefully, that’s the year these chips will hit the market. (more…)
